Welcome Abingdon & Skabardis Marine Carpentry Ltd is owned and run by Kyle Abingdon and Maris Skabardis, two wooden boat enthusiasts who met each other on the Cutty Sark restoration project. Both are time served carpenters and joiners with over 20 years experience between them and have been in the boat building trade since 2006. The company has taken on many projects so far, including work for the HMS Warrior, Cutty Sark HMS Belfast, the repair of numerous small wooden boats both commercial and private, several new build projects, and the manufacture of many masts and spars. The largest one to date being a 90 foot solid mast. Our secure workshop is based on Lamberhurst Farm in Dargate near Faversham Kent where we can accommodate any vessel that can be towed or delivered by lorry. We also offer a mobile service for vessels in the water or at another boatyard in the south east of England. We specialise in the repair and manufacture of wooden boats both traditional (Carvel, Clinker, Double diagonal) and modern (epoxy, plywood, cold molded, etc) and are also happy to help you with many other aspects of boating including the transporting of vessels, rigging, Headlining, engine installations fitting out and maintenance. We are also happy to discuss other interesting carpentry projects you may have. In the past we have been involved in such projects as making props for a theatre show, staircase building and curved elements in listed properties. We are fully insured to work on all vessels up to 89’ in the water or on the hard and have public liability insurance of up to 5 million pounds. We can also work on larger vessels although an extra fee to cover insurance will be requested. Please look at our gallery pages for photos of some previous projects. We look forward to hearing from you.
